JEREMY HENSCHEN AND Paul Hastings, both North Shore area high school students, competed for four days at the April Awana Summit  '05: Destination  St.  Louis national competition. Joining the Grace Covenant Church Awana Journey 24/7 Team, Henschen and Hastings took a 15-hour bus ride from Austin to St. Louis. Sixty teams from across the nation competed in categories of Fine Arts, Bible Quiz, Awana Games and Volleyball. Their Grace Covenant team placed in the top 20 in both Bible Quiz and Awana Games and fourth in Volleyball. In individual competition, Henschen received a Bronze-level medal in the Piano division and Hastings won a Gold-level medal in Piano.
